So yeah, thanks again! I see why people rave about the Schiit Stack. We’ve never had a complaint about our DACs latency." I messaged Schiit about it and this was their reply: "That is not something we measure or specify. Oh yeah, as for latency, I pulled up some youtube videos for latency testing and it was fine. I'm going to lend it out to my audio-curious friends. If my friends ask "should I upgrade from my Fulla 2?" I would probably tell them "only if you aren't sure you're happy with the Fulla 2." Its really impressive how well the Fulla 2 performs for $100 (got mine used for around $70). For my standards, this reaches out just far enough into diminishing returns that I don't feel like I'm missing out and I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off. The bass really only changed with the Magni 3, I'm getting a little more of it out of my HE 4xxs. The mids are a tad less muddy.not that they were muddy on the Fulla 2, but they maybe felt a touch veiled. Certain instruments were brought more forward and came through clearer. I ran through some of my go to tracks and I was hearing the treble better. It isn't night and day like I've heard some people describe ladder DACs, but I definitely hear differences. These are perfect, thanks for the suggestions! I did some really terrible A/B testing between these and my Fulla 2. I sold some of my equipment and went whole horse: So basically, if you can't afford both the Magni 3 and Modi Multibit, I'd just get the Magni 3, use your Fulla 2 as the DAC, and perhaps upgrade to a better DAC later. Even the $30 Behringer UCA202 is about as good as the Modi 2 to my ears. I don't think there's a point in getting a Modi 2 if you already have a Fulla 2. The Modi Multibit is a worthy upgrade in my opinion and even outperforms plenty of more expensive DACs. I'm certainly less impressed with the Fulla 2's amp than its DAC. AMP -> headphones or I was gifted a Schiit Stack by my two best friends. Since you're using a planar magnetic headphone, you might as well try the Magni 3 to see how things improve at your normal listening levels. 1 Drivers If you have a Hel or Fulla, getting started should be as easy as. With some headphones, I heard no difference between the Magni 2 Uber + Modi 2 stack and the headphone outputs of my laptop, while other headphones benefit from stronger amplification. Your results with this type of thing can vary wildly. Every review Ive seen Schiit gets plenty of good praise and the new ZenDac V2 has been getting good reviews as well. I am currently using a set of Shure 440s until I find something more comfortable. I can't tell you whether you would hear an improvement with your headphones if you were to upgrade your amp to the Magni 3. As I said in the other thread, my current dac/amp, an FX-Audio DAC X6MKII (wonderful naming scheme), has bitten its own tail and died. For reference, I have owned the Modi Multibit, Modi 2, Magni 2 Uber, Magni 2, Fulla 2, and Fulla.
